The withholding tax is the most important tax in the investment sector. It is due on earnings and price gains from ETFs and currently amounts to 25%. In addition, there is a solidarity tax of 5.5% and, if applicable, church tax of 8-9%. You do not have to pay tax on earnings of up to € 801 per year, as you are granted a so-called tax allowance.

Good news – if you are registered in Germany, you don't have to worry about handling your taxes yourself. We automatically transfer all relevant information to your tax office. If you are not registered in Germany, you will receive an annual tax assessment from us which you can send to your tax office.
